Mid-year Book Freak Out Tag

Hey guys! So apparently it is somehow already June!! Wait! July??? When did that happen? Since we are halfway through the year I thought I would do the mid year book freak out tag! I have seen this around a bit and the questions seem fun!

Number of books I've read so far this year (in case you were wondering): 62

Now for the questions!!

1. Best book you've read so far in 2017

This is such a hard question! I will probably have to go with Lemons by Melissa Savage! I think Lemons is a book that will stick with me for a while. It is a cute middle grade about two kids trying to find bigfoot, among other things.

2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2017

For this one I am going to say the last book in The Black Mage series (Last Stand) by Rachel E. Carter. The Black Mage series was great and the last book was definitely my favorite of the series. The epilogue was awesome!

3. New release you haven't read yet but want to

Hunted by Meagan Spooner. It is a Beauty and the Beast retelling that sounds really good!

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

How can I not mention the 7th book in the Michael Vey series! Michael Vey 7 (The Final Spark) comes out in September and I can't wait!! I need it right now!!!!!

5. Biggest disappointment

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I really wanted to like it, but parts of it were super slow for me. I didn't care for the romance and the plot was confusing.

6. Biggest surprise

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. This book was really good! I was able to relate to the main character in a lot of ways. This is another book I think will stick with me for a while.

7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you)

Ashley Poston. I read Geekerella by her and really enjoyed it. I definitely want to read more by her.

8. Newest fictional crush

Darren from The Black Mage series!! I fell for him so hard!!

9. Newest favorite character

There are so many!! One I definitely want to mention is Elka from The Valiant by Lesley Livingston. I loved Elka's friendship with the main character Fallon.

10. Book that made you cry

I don't remember if I actually cried while reading it, but Lemons by Melissa Savage

11. Book that made you happy

That's a hard one. Lemons again? I just felt all the things while reading that book!

12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year

Does Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them count?

13. Favorite review you've written this year

Not really a review, but my list of anticipated releases for 2017

14. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year

The box set of Harry Potter books (UK editions). Also Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom because sprayed edges and beautifulness.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year

ALL THE BOOKS!!! That would be awesome! Really, though, I am super excited to read Want by Cindy Pon. It is a futuristic sci-fi that takes place in Taiwan! How awesome does that sound!

Thank you so much for reading! What is the best book you've read so far in 2017? What book or books are you looking forward to reading? Let me know!! I hope you have a wonderful day!!
